Grass.
First of all, thanks bunches to the lovely [info]pensive1 for the birthday cake! Or virtual birthday cake, I should say. Thanks for having an interesting life and allowing the internets to travel along with you on it! ;)

Secondly, I saw Star Trek! And Wolverine! But most importantly--Star Trek! It's really good. And Very Shippable. Nurse Chapel + Bones = Magically delicious!!

Egads! It's time for a Meme! How about one inspired by and ganked from the talented[info] </b></a>[info]la_belle_dame?

The rules for the mosaic meme are as follows:
1. Answer each of the questions below the cut using the Flickr search engine.
2. Choose a photo from the first three pages.
3. Copy the URL of your favorite photos here.
4. Then share with the world

And now, a meme! )

Ok, back to watching RiffTrax and Empire Strikes Back...

Stark/Walters
So, it's been forever, but I haven't forgotten you, oh loyal reader(s)??

Hah, right.

I'm feeling Meme-ish and so here it is (Courtesy of fandom_memes):

1. List your top seven ships
2. Put all of them in order of your love for them; 7 to 1, 1 being your favorite.
3. Name their fandom.
4. Supply photos for said people.
(I did links, mainly...)

Memes! )Memes! )Memes! )
Anyone else care to answer?

OMG Arms!
I've rediscovered my love of cutely packaged meals recently, and Hubby and I spent most of today shopping at our local specialty/Asian market, cooking, and just gooning around. Because I'm about as non-Asian as it is possibly to be, I have no cool old family recipes or traditions to follow; I am sure I can figure out a compromise to Schnitzel Musubi. We went out with friends last night, saw Hellboy 2 (Review below!) and ended up at Biwa in SE Portland, snacking on tasty small dishes, great sake, and generally enjoying ourselves.

Biwa is astonishingly tasty; more so than should be allowed. Nestled in the half-basement of a building on 9th and Ash, they brought plate after plate of delicious maguro, scallops, pickled veggies, chilled somen. It got me jazzed again about non-sushi Japanese food.

So, I went online and found some really fantastic recipes that have been quick, easy, and tasty!

  • Lunch in a Box has great recipes for usuyaki tamago and yaki onigiri. We made several versions of the latter, some with a shrimp, ummeboshi, and seaweed filling (yum!) and others with just the tasty sprinkles. Hubby grilled them, basted with a mixture of sweet and regular soy sauce, and I've got them individually-wrapped in the frige.
  • Cooking Cute also reminded me to try the tofu musubi I'd seen once and intended to replicate. I grilled about 1cm-thick slices of extra-firm organic tofu, basting them in store-bought unagi sauce to get the dark crispyness. Nothing personal against Spam--I just never caught the wave, and tofu really makes it tasty.
  • I also made (didn't need any recipe for it) some cucumber salad/light pickles, depending on how long it hangs out in the vinegar. I have some tempura shrimp, and some unagi just waiting to be grilled and basted! Yummas.
So, that's been my weekend; went to my belly dance class yesterday, remembered why I take public transit for an hour each way to do it. Groceries, coking, movie, friends--letter from my Grandma, who is fantastic and has more fun at a casino than I do at a fabric store (which is saying something.)

So, on to Hellboy 2.

So, I give it 7.5 / 10 Elf Facial Tattoos.

Totally Awesome.
Series Descriptions

Behind the Scenes - Any story that takes place during (or very close around) the scenes or missing scenes in the 208 film.

Between the Pages - Stories that incorporate more comic-based events. I tend to stick to Extremis, Civil War, and the occasional reference to Demon in a Bottle.

Under the Covers - Smut. Pure, unadulterated smut. Yay!

Ratings

Clean - Something I could (potentially) show my mom.

Dirty - All the stuff my mom wishes she could read. Ha ha, sorry mom. ;)
